Old Girls Christine Moeketsi (2008) and Monica Murray (2012) who are both members of the South African Gold Award Holders’ Association (SAGAHA), represented the President’s Award at the Young Independent’s launch at the Wanderers Club on 27 July. Well done!

Cocktail Party Cape Town 2016
Once again Wendy Floquet’s beautiful home in Constantia was the venue for the Cape Town branch of SAORA’s annual get-together. Both young and old mingled together and enjoyed the beautiful setting, the delicious food, and, more importantly, the warm and congenial atmosphere. Mary Williams travelled from Johannesburg to be at the event, and gave a brief overview of the current happenings of the school. The SAORA is most grateful to Wendy and Winston Floquet for hosting the event, and we look forward to next year’s event.

Croquet Challenge 2016
There was great disappointment when the Croquet Challenge had to be cancelled, due to heavy rain in February. It was re-scheduled, and on a beautiful sunny day in May, the Form ls played an inter-house challenge with great croquet skill on the lawn at St Margaret’s.This was followed by a lovely tea and prize giving, where Earl won the trophy. We are holding these events in order to try and expose the girls to SAORA and to the heritage of Roedean, and to start awakening in them the sense of pride in attending ‘The Best School of All’. We are hoping that interactions with SAORA at an early age will start forming habits that will continue for many years to come and that a long relationship, well after Matric, will be established.
