Once again, a most enjoyable evening was spent at the Alphen Hotel in Constantia, where Old Girls from the Cape Town area gathered together for a chat with school friends and a ‘catch-up’ on SAORA news. Murray Thomas, the Roedean (SA) Executive Head, and his wife, Joanne, joined the party to meet the Capetonians.
Old Girls come back to school
SAORA welcomed these Old Girls back to school when they took part in the varsity orientation talk that was part of the ‘Welcome to SAORA’ event held recently for the Matrics. The Old Girls spoke about their personal experiences at varsity and gave the Matrics an insight into varsity life.

SAORA Cape Town Cocktail party 2017
The annual Cape Town get-together this year was held at the elegant Andros Hotel in Claremont. Old Girls both young and old, mingled and chatted as they caught up on news of ‘old’ school friends. Lindsay Lawrence, the President of SAORA, gave a short review on the activities of SAORA, and then introduced Murray Thomas, the Executive Head of Roedean, who had flown down from Johannesburg to meet the Capetonians. He gave the Old Girls an update on the current happenings at the school and the achievements of the pupils. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we are already planning next year’s event!
