Old Girl, Camilla Antonie, Matric 2007, joined the Roedean staff at the beginning of 2017. Here is her story:
After matriculating in 2007, I studied a BA (English Language and Literature, Philosophy) at UCT, after which I obtained my Postgraduate Certificate in Education specialising in English (also from UCT). In my final year of studying education, I worked as a facilitator at Forres Preparatory School in Cape Town. After completing my studies at the end of 2013, I moved to northern Thailand where I worked for the Chiang Mai branch of the Burma Study Center, a non-profit organisation that develops education and social welfare projects to support youth from Burma, including migrants and refugees, and to encourage people around the world to become more educated, aware, and active in the struggle for peace and freedom in Burma. I returned to Johannesburg in 2016 and joined Roedean as an English support teacher. I was appointed as a full-time English teacher in 2017.
